Let's travel back in time to the beginnings of the United States. The Pilgrims tried the "collective" thing and to make everyone work to eat and it worked for that first winter (barely) but as time progressed, the first attempt at socialism in the New World failed and failed miserably. Why? Because socialism steals away human initiative, pure and simple.
Americans once highly respected private property (No more thanks to Souter) and indeed, the property of others (no keying cars, graffiti, etc). Americans one highly respected one another's God-given rights under a free nation! Americans once lived by clearly identifiable social mores that included attending church, helping our neighbors, serving the nation NOT the self, and being Americans, not hypenated crybabies begging for more and more government intervention in their lives!
Truly, had someone suggested anything different even 50 years ago, they'd have been thought absolutely nuts and rightly so. Imagine walking up to an American male in, say, 1948, and telling him that he and his family would be better off forcing the government to give them succor from cradle-to-grave. A punch in the mouth might have been your reward!
Tell that same American that the government will run to their aid with "free" health care, "free" education, "free" welfare, "free" economic stimlus package, i.e., "free money" as the Gunny is hearing it called and you'd have been laughed at. Yet here we are.
Last night, Bill O'Reilly pointed out the fraud in a universal health care plan and it soared over the head of Madam Shrillary! Why? Because LIBERALS DON'T GIVE A D*MN about waste, fraud, and abuse as long as it buys them votes! (See the story on Rangel's nice car)
Modern Liberalism seeks to enslave and oppress, nothing more. That is, unless you're one of the pigs more equal than the others. Then, mind you, it's a free ride through life for you and yours, which is why liberal elites like Obama, Hillary, and the rest of them are proponents of it. They are ALREADY rich, ALREADY pay LITTLE taxes (see the story on Al Franken), and so, will opt out of any plan that they force on us. For example, LIBERALS and FDR created the scam called Social Security and made it MANDATORY for US and wrote themselves out of it. Nice not having to give up a percentage of THEIR PAYCHECKS! It took Reagan to put them into it to make a point.
When an American accepts Socialism, which is nothing more than Communism-lite, they allow themselves to be subdued by the government in return for a promise of security and stability that would allow them to live their miserable lives in some unhindered form. Wrong answer! As Ben Franklin stated: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety!" We'd be worn down by unending and ever-growing taxes, fees, tolls, charges, duties, programs, etc, like the serfs of old received from their liege lords. More work, less goods in return.
The American Revolution was fought to reclaim our God-given rights of self-determination yet millions of Americans are allowing themselves to be led around with a ring through their noses, like a castrated bull, by the liberal pied pipers of sh*t! They "promise" hope and change yet fail to realize that only FOUR THINGS will guarantee a strong America.
1. SELF-DISCIPLINE! (That means living within your means, buying a house you can afford, etc.)
2. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! (That means doing the RIGHT THING even when it sucks and taking the hit when YOU screw up!)
3. HARD WORK! (That means working for a living, not relying on the government for your "welfare.")
4. RELIGION! (You gotta be thankful when it all goes right to SOMEONE or SOMETHING!)
Like the old bumper sticker stated: "God, Guns, and Guts made America great. Let's keep all three."
Liberals never teach in their government reeducation sites (public schools) that the Pilgrims played around with Socialism for the first two years or so and nearly died for it. Let the Gunny reiterate why. Because Socialism SUCKS! The Plymouth Colony became a "share-the-wealth" commune, the very thing Hillary, Obama, Soros, Pelosi, and the other liberal parasites espouse, and it FAILED!
Here's a challenge. Drive out to California. Find Nancy Pelosi's house. She is a member of the "progressive" party, which is lib-code for a Socialist. Enter her house and help yourself to, say, a sandwich or two from her fridge. After all, share the wealth. She has pastrami in HER fridge and you DON'T! See how long it takes for the police to arrive and take you to jail. Share the wealth...as long as you ain't sharing THEIR WEALTH!
For the liberals who would challenge the Gunny, he dares YOU to read, "Of Plimouth Plantation" by Gov Bradford. He [Bradford] writes: "Comone course and condition [socialism] was found to breed much confusion and discontent. Work was retarded that would have been to our benefit and comforts." Bradford also comments on the fact that the young men who COULD WORK harder did not. Why? Because they would not receieve ANY EXTRA FOOD or GOODS for it. Only liberals can't seem to grasp that simple fact of human nature. Indeed, Governor Bradford condemned the fledgling socialists who, as he put it, "thought themselves wiser than God." Small wonder liberals seek to destroy God in America.
In closing, let's be clear that Socialism, the liberal's false religion and bogus ideology is HOSTILE to America, Americans, and our way of life! It is hostile to religion, the family, the free market, human initiative, and it makes the government into God. It failed in the Soviet Union and it'll fail here. Yet liberals are too stupid to see it. One must ask themselves WHY are liberals so dumb? Genetics? Ingrained Pacifism? Or just plain ol Envy with a dash of Spite tossed in. Since those who CAN...DO! (and prosper for it) Those who CAN'T...are liberals and whine about it.
