   Jack Lummus was born on a cotton farm in southeast Ellis County in northeast Texas on 22 October, 1915. In August of 1941 Jack reported to the New York Giants training camp at Superior State Teachers College, Superior, Wisconsin. He made the final cut, and was a freshman end on the 33-man roster that opened the season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night, 13 September, 1941.

   On Friday, January 30, 1942, Jack joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in Dallas, Texas for the duration of the national emergency. He was immediately assigned to active duty, and at 9:00 p.m., with 13 other recruits, boarded a Pullman car on the Texas & Pacific Railroad for the first leg of the journey to San Diego, California and basic training.

   Jack volunteered for the Marine Raider Battalion and made THAT cut as well.

   On Iwo, Lieutenant Lummus was leading the 3rd Platoon, continuing to spearhead the drive through the morning into the early afternoon when they were suddenly halted by a concentration of heavy enemy fire from concealed concrete pillboxes. Jack surveyed the terrain, making his decision, and moved out ahead of his platoon.

   Moving forward, in the open, Jack was knocked to the ground by the impact from the explosion of an enemy grenade. He recovered and ran 
forward of the line, Jack reached a concrete and reinforced steel pillbox containing three enemy defenders. He poked the muzzle of his carbine through an aperture firing rapidly into the interior, and then withdrew his carbine, and shoved fragmentation grenades through the opening. Smoke and debris poured from openings in the pillbox. In that moment of destruction, he was exposed to rifle and automatic fire from a supporting pillbox. The impact from the explosion of a second enemy grenade knocked Jack to the ground, and shrapnel from the blast tore into his shoulder. Disregarding painful shoulder wounds and on his feet, he raced to the second pillbox, and destroyed the enemy within.

   Jack returned to the line, and his platoon. He rallied his men by going down the line from man to man directing and encouraging them to advance. He led, and they followed until halted by withering fire emanating from a third pillbox. Without hesitation or taking cover, Jack charged the pillbox, and destroyed the enemy, again allowing his troops to advance.

   Jack continued to lead his platoon toward their objective while attacking foxholes and spider traps with his carbine. He had just cleared out one foxhole, and advancing to another, when his foot came down on the detonator of a land mine. Although mortally wounded, he struggled to rise from the broken ground on which he lay. For an instant his upper body was supported by an elbow, and he was shouting. But not from pain or fear of death, he was shouting to his men, "don't stop now, keep going."

   The sight and the encouraging words from a mortally wounded Lummus inspired his men effecting a blending of rage of average men with normal emotions into an overpowering force of selfless, unrelenting Marines who fought across impossible terrain against a fanatical enemy, and breaking through the enemy's lines, they reach their objective.

A Navy corpsman quickly came to Jack's aid. Kneeling beside him, the corpsman worked rapidly to slow the bleeding. He started the first unit of plasma, before Jack was lifted from the broken ground, and placed on a stretcher. He died about 30 minutes later.

Resuming his assault tactics with bold decision after fighting without respite for two days and nights. First Lieutenant Lummus slowly advanced his platoon against an enemy deeply entrenched in a network of mutually supporting positions. Suddenly halted by a terrific concentration of hostile fire, he unhesitatingly moved forward of his front line in an effort to neutralize the Japanese position. Although knocked to the ground when an enemy grenade exploded close by, he immediately recovered himself and, again moving forward despite the intensified barrage, quickly located attacked and destroyed the occupied emplacement. Instantly taken under fire by the garrison of a supporting pillbox and further assailed by the slashing fury of hostile rifle fire, he fell under the impact of a second enemy grenade, but courageously disregarding painful shoulder wounds, staunchly continued his heroic one-man assault and charged the second pillbox annihilating all the occupants. Subsequently returning to his platoon, position, he fearlessly traversed his lines under fire, encouraging his men to advance and directing the fire of supporting tanks against other stubbornly holding Japanese emplacements. Held up again by a devastating barrage, he again moved into the open, rushed a third heavily fortified installation and killed the defending enemy. Determined to crush all resistance, he led his men indomitably, personally, attacking foxholes and spider-traps with his carbine and systematically reducing the fanatic opposition until, stepping on a land mine, he sustained fatal wounds. By his outstanding valor, skilled tactics and tenacious perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds, First Lieutenant Lummus had inspired his stouthearted Marines to continue the relentless drive northward, thereby contributing materially to the success of his company's mission. His dauntless leadership and unwavering devotion to duty throughout enhanced and sustained the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.    The ACLU is suing the State Police in Rhode Island for stopping and then escorting a van full of Guatemalan nationals to the local Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in Providence. 

   Head Clown for the Rhode Island branch of the American Communists and Liberals Union, Steven Brown, vomited this pablum. “It’s very rare for individuals like these plaintiffs to be willing to step forward and challenge questionable police practices that they’ve been subject to. The citizenship status of the plaintiffs is really irrelevant to this lawsuit. These were individuals who were in a van that was stopped for a minor traffic violation. The question is whether police have a right to detain individuals for no other reason than the way they look."

   Let's break that down and examine it.

1. Questionable police practices. The van was stopped for changing lanes WITHOUT using a turn signal. The State Trooper, Thomas Chabot, then finds a van full of people. FOURTEEN to be exact. He investigates further.

2. Trooper Chabot opened the doors of the vehicle and used the driver Tamup as a translator. (Of course NONE of them speak English.) He asked them to prove their identity (no driver's licenses, social security cards, voter registration cards, military ID's, NOTHING!) NONE OF THEM WERE ABLE TO PRODUCE ONE FRIGGING IDENTIFYING DOCUMENT!

   Policy Analyst Mr. James Sherk, who works at the Heritage Foundation, recently pointed out that ONLY TWO PERCENT of Americans actually earn only $5.15 per hour. Here, let me type this slowly for the stupid liberals out there. ONLY TWO PERCENT WORK FOR MINIMUM WAGE.

   Economic facts for libdolts.

1. By raising minimum wage, it interferes with the FREE MARKET that determines wages by what the FREE MARKET WILL SUPPORT! If it makes good business/economic sense to pay them more, thus ensuring better retention and low turnover rates then businesses would already be DOING IT!

2. Minimum wage workers ARE NOT RAISING FAMILIES. GOT THAT? RARELY are they heads of families, FLUSH that liberal pablum out of your head! Thus, if Red Nancy raises the minimum wage, it WILL will increase competition for low-skilled jobs by encouraging teenagers to drop out of school to enter the work force. THIS IS BAD! Undereducated workers get SH*TTY JOBS thoroughout their lives but can be counted on to vote DHIMMICRAT! 

3. Minimum wage hikes do not reduce poverty rates. Those not bothering to work for 5.15 and hour ain't gonna jump out of bed for 7.25.

4. It will ENABLE the illegal aliens border-jumping skills since employers (like winery owner Red Nancy) will be MORE TEMPTED to pay them UNDER THE TABLE vice employing a real bona-fide American citizen.

5. By raising the minimum wage, businesses have to RAISE THEIR PRICES to cover additional costs! It's called being in business to MAKE A PROFIT! This hurts the POOR far worse than rich liberals like Red Nancy (net worth 55 mil) or Hanoi John Fonda Kerry (net worth 500 mil).

US MILITARY Job Satisfaction Still High, Survey Shows

  With a startling consistency, 86 percent of those responding to the Military Times Poll say they are satisfied with their job, a number that hasn’t varied more than two points in the four years the poll has been asking the question. (CLINTON cannot claim that!)

When pollsters ask Americans in general that question, they get similar numbers. A USA Today/Gallup poll last summer, for example, found 89 percent were satisfied with their jobs. (Proof only Conservatives work!)

When asked to rate their overall military quality of life, fewer than 10 percent rated it poor or very poor. And that number, too, has remained level since the war began. (That 10% that we call sh*tbirds!)

By large majorities, those responding:

*Are satisfied with their family lives and the time they spend with their family.

*Would sign up again if given the choice.

*Would recommend a military career to others, including their own children.

*Are not worried about their finances.

  Part of the explanation for these upbeat assessments may stem from the nature of the population being surveyed. The average member of the sample — active-duty subscribers to the Military Times newspapers — is older (36 years old) and more senior (15 years’ service) than an average member of the overall force. These are men and women who have bought into the military lifestyle — and remain satisfied with that choice.

  Professor David Segal, director of the Center for Research on Military Organization at the University of Maryland, said the high morale reflected the nature of the group being surveyed.

  “This is the career force. They’re not apprentice troops,” he said. “The troops have maintained their level of professionalism.”

  The two-thirds of the respondents who said they’d sign up again today if they had to make that choice cited patriotism as the main reason. That was followed closely by pension. Finally, 63 percent think that today’s troops are the best ever.

    The Dhimmicrats have now taken control, by a razor-thin majority in the House of the Congcritters. What can we expect? Higher taxes? Yep. Socialized Health Care whether you need it or not? Yep. Higher prices in the marketplace to cover a higher minimum wage? You betcha. But what is worse is that the Dhimmicrats will sell another ally down the river.

   There are moonbats out there who will tell me that I am wrong. The Dhimmicrats are the party for the little man. They love us! Yeah, Nancy Pelosi, worth 55 million dollars, who comes FROM a rich family, who is married to ANOTHER rich person, sure knows all about working two jobs to make ends meet. She surely knows that Social Security is crumbs when compared to the Galveston Plan but I digress. 

   In today's history lesson, let's examine the perfidy and treachery of the Left from the days of the Civil War. The Dhimmicrats were then called: COPPERHEADS. What exactly did this mean?

    The Copperheads were a faction of Democrats in the North who opposed the American Civil War, wanting an immediate peace settlement with the Confederates. The name Copperheads was given to them by their opponents the Republicans, derived from the venomous snake (the American copperhead) that strikes without warning. 

    Copperheads nominally favored the Union but they strongly opposed the war, for which they blamed abolitionists (ol Dhimmicrat RACISM), and they demanded immediate peace and resisted the draft laws. They wanted Lincoln and the Republicans ousted from power, seeing the president as a tyrant who was destroying American republican values with his despotic and arbitrary actions. Some Copperheads tried to persuade Union soldiers to desert. They talked of helping Confederate prisoners of war seize their camps and escape. They sometimes met with Confederate agents and took their money. The Confederacy encouraged their activities whenever possible.

   PEACE AT ANY COSTS. Visits to Hanoi? Visits to Baghdad? Surrender NOW! Bush must be impeached, etc, etc, etc. Hmmm. We've heard THAT before haven't we?

    The Dhimmicrats were also active in WW1, preferring to sit on their hands vice fight German aggression. Dhimmicrat Wilson was a MAJOR PACIFIST! When a German U-boat sank the British liner Lusitania in 1915, a large passenger liner with 128 Americans aboard, the United States President, Wilson, vowed "America was too proud to fight", and demanded an end to attacks on passenger ships. Germany complied. Wilson tried to mediate a compromise settlement; yet no compromise was discovered. Yeah, sometimes you HAVE TO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!

   I've already written about liberals in WW2. Enough said.

   The Dhimmicrats snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Korea by allowing the withdrawal from the Yalu and the reimposition of the Kim Il government by the UN.

   The Dhimmicrats screwed the Cuban exiles at the Bay of Pigs.

   The Dhimmicrats left the Vietnamese to twist in the wind by cutting off funding which is EXACTLY what they are going to do to Iraq.
 
   The Dhimmicrats under Carter screwed the Shah of Iran and allowed a maniacal theocracy to take power.

   The Dhimmicrats cut and ran from Somalia allowing OBL to plot 9-11. 

   The Dhimmicrats have done EVERYTHING in their power to undermine Bush, the GWOT, and the war in Iraq. From 85 straight days of the Abu Ghraib BS via the NY Slime to CUT n RUN Murtha to Quagmire Ted to Hanoi John's insults to Red Nancy's garbage to Hollyweird's anti-US bullsqueeze, it is apparent that we have a mess of Copperheads in our midst once again.

   In fact, just recently, she led the opposition and voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 recently signed into law by President Bush to build a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.

   Red Nancy has to date:

   1. Opposed the Real ID Act of 2005, a valuable anti-terror tool.

   2. Bragged that Democrats under her leadership "defeated Republican attempts to restrict the easily forged Matricula Consular card" issued by the Mexican government.

   3. Voted against a bill to make employers such as herself financially liable for hospital costs if undocumented employees seek medical attention, preferring that the taxpayers foot the bill.

   4. In 2005 she voted against barring the issuance of driver's licenses to illegal aliens.
 
   5. Voted against a requirement that businesses use an electronic system to verify whether new hires have the legal right to work in the U.S.

   6. She accused immigration officers of conducting "terrorizing raids" on Wal-Mart stores that led to the arrest of more than 300 illegal aliens. (2003).

   In an age where we NEED strong border security, Red Nancy just can't be counted on. The people coming across our southern border aren't just seeking better lives. They're joined by drug smugglers and an assortment of people with criminal records. There are also what Immigration and Customs Enforcement calls OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) among whom potential terrorists could sneak in undetected. Not to mention thousands coming here with INFECTIOUS diseases like TB, STD's, etc, thus driving up health care costs.

   Pelosi apparently puts her financial interests above the security of this nation and the safety of its citizens, exploiting undocumented workers in the process. If the people at Immigration and Customs are looking for an employer to check out, we know this little vineyard in the Napa Valley. (DRAIN YOUR SEWER NANCY!)

   Red Nancy's most recent financial disclosure form shows that she and her husband own:
 
   1. Millions of dollars in real-estate investments in San Francisco and California Wine Country, in addition to a wide variety of stock holdings.

   2. Pelosi still jointly owns a vineyard on Zinfandel Lane in St. Helena, Calif., valued between $5 million and $25 million. 

   3. A townhouse near Lake Tahoe valued between $1 million and $5 million.

   4. An investment valued at up to $1 million in the posh Silverado Resort in Napa.
 
   5. A real estate option on a property in San Francisco valued up to $5 million.

   ONE D*MN GOOD QUOTE: "I'm happy that Congresswoman Pelosi can look forward to a very comfortable retirement in which she enjoys only the finest pinot noirs and watches the sun set over the scenic Napa Valley," said Americans for Prosperity spokesman Ed Frank.
