The Gunny realized that he has been far too mean to the Red Queen of the Congress. Here he was bashing her when she and her commie cohorts, along with one RINO named Cow, oops, Cao, just handed us the best campaign attack pot for 2010 and if Barry Soetoro signs it into law (which will then be contested), Republicans can use it in 2012. Let's look at a few bullet points of this fantastic piece of legislation:
1. The bill cuts Medicare's projected spending by more than $400 billion over a decade. That means LESS services.
2. It imposes an illegal tax surcharge of 5.4 percent on incomes over $500,000 in the case of individuals and $1 million for families.
3. The legislation require Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it.
4. Large companies are forced to offer coverage to their employees.
5. Americans are slapped with penalties if they defy the government's mandates.
6. Perhaps the best point for us to attack on is that the government would sell health insurance. Not only have they screwed up every other program they've run, this point is forecasted by the Congressional Budget Office that the government health insurance policies would be more expensive than for policies sold by private companies. As Gomer Pyle would say: "Surprise, surprise, surprise."
We were even given a gift from Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, who bleated: "We realize the strong will for reform that exists, and we are energized that we stand closer than ever to reforming our broken health insurance system." It's broken Dingy? Then HOW have people been getting treatment for the last 100 years or so?
Indeed, the Red Queen and her drone Dingy Reid have given their opponents the following questions to be ased in 2010 and 2012.
1. Why do they want control of our bodies? Why are they going to database our health records?
2. Why do they wish to import policies demonstrated in other countries to be personally and financially destructive?
3. Why do they want control of carbon using the hoax of global warming as a reason?
4. Why are they attempting to control every piece of commerce including: gas/diesel, electricity, food, autos, etc?
5. Why are Democrats persistently attacking our Military, the CIA, DoD, and the Anti-Terrorism fight?
6. Why are Democrats working to create legislation over every environmental issue, including preventing the farmers of the Imperial Valley from... farming, thanks to the Delta smelt?
7. Why do they attempt to concentrate political/egislative power away from American citizen? The States (in violation of the 10th Amendment)?
8. Why are they growing government to an unprecedented scale and size?
9. Why are they working to control every aspect of our lives, jobs, communities, etc?
10. Why is the Federal Govt so deep in debt that it is wrecking the economy and destroying the dollar?
11. Why are liberals relocating terrorists interred in Guantanamo to places like Bermuda on the taxpayer's dime?
So you see, we should be THANKFUL that the Democrats are running an out-of-control Congress that is slapping the following scenario on us:
1. A Federal law compels the individual to obtain qualifying health coverage. If the individual refuses, they will be compelled to pay additional Federal taxes.
2. If the individual can not afford to obtain required healthcare plan as structured, the individual is subsized by the Feds while others are taxed in addition to other taxes like income tax, state tax, property tax, gas tax, utility tax, etc, to support it.
3. If the individual cannot afford to pay the tax, the IRS, with more power, can step in with the ultimate penalty being charged with tax evasion and being put into a federal prison.
4. But then, the individual is finally in compliance with the law now that they're getting their health care in a federal prison, courtesy of the United States Government.
What the Red Queen fails to note is that people who do not maintain health insurance for themselves and their families would be forced to pay an "excise tax" of up to $1,500 per year but a "tax" that falls exclusively on one group, i.e., those who are uninsured, is a penalty beyond Congress's authority. We have ask ourselves, at one point does Congress throw out all constitutional limits on their power by taxing anyone who doesn't eat right, go to a health club and exercise regularly, refuses to eat their veggies, etc?
You see my friends, we should be THANKFUL that the Democrats are working so hard to impose many new bureaucratic laws that will cover:
(1) Hospitalization.
(2) Outpatient hospital and outpatient clinic services, including emergency department services.
(3) Professional services of physicians and other health professionals.
(4) Such services, equipment, and supplies incident to the services of a physician’s or a health professional’s delivery of care in institutional settings, physician offices, patients’ homes or place of residence, or other settings, as appropriate.
(5) Prescription drugs.
(6) Rehabilitative and habilitative services.
(7) Mental health and substance abuse disorder services.
(8) Preventive services, including those services recommended with a grade of A or B by the Task Force on Clinical Preventive Services and those vaccines recommended for use by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
(9) Maternity care.
(10) Well baby and well child care and oral health, vision, and hearing services, equipment, and supplies at least for children under 21 years of age.
We will no longer have to THINK about what we need, the Red Queen has seen to our cradle-to-grave health care! Now we'll just have to stand in line for it, of course, our rich politicians WILL NOT HAVE TO DO SO. Not only are they exempted from it but they're rich enough to fly to Costa Rica for their health care..and buy carbon credits for the trip!
The Politico: "As Washington reels from the news of 10.2 percent unemployment, the Center for Responsive Politics is out with a new report describing the wealth of members of Congress. Among the highlights: Two-hundred-and-thirty-seven members of Congress are millionaires. That’s 44 percent of the body – compared to about 1 percent of Americans overall. CRP says California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is the richest lawmaker on Capitol Hill, with a net worth estimated at about $251 million. Next in line: Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), worth about $244.7 million; Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), worth about $214.5 million; Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), worth about $209.7 million; and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), worth about $208.8 million. All told, at least seven lawmakers have net worths greater than $100 million, according to the Center’s 2008 figures. “Many Americans probably have a sense that members of Congress aren’t hurting, even if their government salary alone is in the six figures, much more than most Americans make,” said CRP spokesman Dave Levinthal. “What we see through these figures is that many of them have riches well beyond that salary, supplemented with securities, stock holdings, property and other investments.” The CRP numbers are somewhat rough estimates – lawmakers are required to report their financial information in broad ranges of figures, so it’s impossible to pin down their dollars with precision. The CRP uses the mid-point in the ranges to build its estimates. Some lawmakers have profited from investments in companies that have received federal bailouts; dozens of lawmakers are invested in Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America."
Nice huh? Soviet style health care for the masses, Awesome care in beachside clinics in Costa Rica for our masters.
NOT to be outdone, the Red Queen and her legion of idiots, who have milked their cash cows Fannie and Freddie, just got some good news on Friday. Freddie Mac posted a loss of $5 billion in the third quarter and predicted it would need more government support! Fannie Mae, not to be outdone, posted an 18.9 BILLION DOLLAR LOSS, and now needs $15 BILLION from the U.S. Taxpayer! As predicted by those of us OPPOSED to the bailout, Freddie and fannie will continue to depend on support from the government! ANOTHER well run program from the US Gov't.
We should thank the Red Queen for the congressional trickery that passes sh*tty legislation in the dead of night, and violated the Constitution's divided power between the federal government and states. It is waking up those who have ignored this for decades. Even though judicial challenges will arise from this health care reform power grab, we as Americans need to realize and demand that those who would impose a tax that is so clearly a penalty for failing to comply with requirements from a Congress that is exceeding it's Constitutional power, be punished. What has happened unde this Congress, led by the Red Queen, that the Constitution has now ceased to be a binding covenant between the American people and the Federal colossus. What we have under this Congress is a post-Constitutional America, where the Congress and their activist courts can legislate anything they like. Once upon a time in America, the Constitution was essentially an economic document based upon the concept that the fundamental private rights belong to individual Americans and are morally beyond the reach of a democratic mob. Under FDR, the Supreme Court first nullified the Founders’ concept of limited government and instituted an age of limitless government power, that the Red Queen has now finalized in the name of progression but more likely, "progressives!" We are now in an America where taxation without representation is in vogue, where civil rights including "hate speech" and soon, "hate though", and where taxation without legislation is the norm under Democratic rule.
Americans should ask themselves just how far we’ve deviated from our founding principles and the Ninth Amendment but asking just how the federal government can run a national health insurance system and force Americans to comply with it. The United States was founded on the idea individual rights. Our founding documents are imbued with the moral philosophy of principled self-interest, of individualism , that said individuals are ends-in-themselves. That we own our own lives, that we have the God-given right to exist for our own sake, and that no one, not even the Federal Imperial Government has the right to force anyone to live for the sake of others (welfare for example), and that all Americans have the right to be left alone to pursue our own ends in life as long as we don’t infringe on the liberty of others to do the same! Americas, under the Constitution, allow us to deal with one another through voluntary means, i.e., we donate to charity through our own good will, etc. Americans see that the proper role of government is to protect our rights by legislating, adjudicating, and enforcing laws that prohibit individuals, groups, and any enemies, both domestic and foreign, from using force against us, to bend us to their will. Our Founding Fathers and our founding documents do not embrace the collectivism that the Democrats ruling over us embrace. Liberals believe that the individual has value only insofar as he or she serves the collective and that the proper role of government is to subjugate the individual to the collective. This Congress, run by the Red Queen, believe that the government is entitled to own, use, and dispose of personal property (our money), private property, the means of production, and now with the death panels, the lives of individuals in order to promote the welfare of the collective.
