WHO is Gunnery Sergeant Gibson?

Today we ignore the squirming maggots on the Left and instead, focus on what is RIGHT about America and our way of life. Enjoy.

Who is Gunnery Sergeant William Gibson? One, he's from Pryor, Oklahoma, the Heartland of America. Two, on 16 May 06, a sniper fired a round through Gunny Gibson's knee, resulting in his losing the leg. Three, he is the first full leg amputee to go back to Iraq. That's right, Gunny Gibson has been redeployed as an active Marine.

Gunnery Sergeant Gibson has been in our beloved Corps for 18 years and like ALL Marines, it makes him who he is. The Marine Corps, almost like the Priesthood, satifies the need to serve something larger than ourselves, something that many can and will never understand (liberals). Gunny Gibson told the Corps that all wanted to do was get back into the fight. He told the Corps that returning to Iraq would return the feeling of being a Marine again.

This hardcharger runs half marathons with his prosthetic! He was in a race, swimming from Alcatraz Island to the mainland, with Marine General Mattis watching him. As Gunny Gibson came out of the water, General Mattis asked Gunny Gibson what he could do for him. Gunny Gibson's reply: "Sir, send me back to Iraq."

This Leatherneck is now in Fallujah, back with his fellow Marines, coordinating fire from the COC. 1st Marine Expeditionary Force CG, General Kelly, stated that Gunny Ginson works out at the gym harder than anyone at the base! His only limitation is that he cannot go out on foot patrol so as not to endanger other Devil Dogs due to his prothetic leg. Gunnery Sergeant Gibson typifies the product that Marine Corps Recruit Depots at San Diego (Hollywood Marines) and Parris Island (Real Marines) turns out. We don’t water down our standards, we don't play patty-cake, and we don’t pass out black berets for signing up. In the words of the 70's recruiting poster, "We don't promise you a rose garden!" Gunny Gibson is a REAL HERO, not the psuedo ones found on a football field playing for the National Felon League or some idiot on the TV but a real American Hero who is stepping up to the plate AGAIN, when many many others in the States refuse to! When scummy pigs like Code Pink and the Bezerkelites PROTEST against them, it's a sad day for America. The day we can shovel dirt on the faces of such vermin will be a great one indeed.

In closing, what a true testimony to the fine sons (and daughters) that American continues to produce, even though the liberals work 24/7 against us, like termites eating at the foundation of this country and verminous moths gnawing at the fabric of Old Glory. Gunnery Sergeant Gibson is one outstanding Devil Dog. Rock on brother.

February 21st, 2008 at 5:16 am: To everyone, I will like to say "Thank You" to all of you who have given opinion or gratitude for what we all do, in service to our country. I usually stay pretty low-key when it comes to a camera or a reporter. It always seems to find me but, as an above the knee amputee, I think it is important to not only show my fellow Marines but all citizens that our abilities still exist. We new fighters strive to prove to all that fought before us that we do not wish to tarnish their hard work. Our service in Iraq or Afghanistan is to assist them in some of the same ways we needed assistance 232 years ago. War sucks, getting injured or dying sucks, but all of us serving raised our right hand and swore to do what is a responsibility. I take not one day back in my service. I would much rather be the Marine injured than one of my young Marines who have a long life to live. Thank you all again. I will gladly answer all of your emails as soon as I get the free time to do so. This was a quicker method to reach the masses. If you want to know the true heroes, its the family members that put up with us doing this job. Or holding our hand while we learn to walk again. To let go of that hand, as hard as it might be, to let us return to the same place that changed our life. My wife Chaney is the hero, I just support. Semper Fi, GySgt Spanky Gibson

Comment by Funk: February 21st, 2008 at 4:33 am: I’ve never met Gunny "Spanky" Gibson, but I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Sgt Matiodda. We were both stationed in Okinawa, Japan at the same time, along with Eddie(his buddy who had lost both arms in Fallujah) who’s been a friend for years. We spent many a great weekends together and I miss those guys often. Seeing Eddie at President Reagan’s funeral brought a tear to my eye. There is nothing like a US Marine. If you are one, you understand this. If anybody has Matiodda’s e-mail address, please mail him and have him contact Eddie who will then contact "Funk". It would be nice to catch up.

Comment by Lew Ceja: February 21st, 2008 at 3:44 am Thats a Marine for ya, they never quit. These Marines keep doing things everyday that make me proud of being a former Marine. As they say "once a Marine" and I’m proud of Spanky, good work Gunny. Hang in there Gunny best of luck, Lew "1962-1966 3rd Marine Division."

Comment by Ira Townsend Sgt. USMC: February 21st, 2008 at 1:54 am: Inspire the young and influence the old." You’re doing one hell of a job in keeping the faith with that of America’s most noble Sons and Daughters, Gunny. The term "True Warrior" comes to mind. You make me proud to be an American and prouder still to have been a Marine. Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you or the guys that are serving. Pogey bait or whatever just give us a shout. You are all in my prayers and I hope that the politicians (note the "p" is lower cased), such as in the word, "liberals" allow you guys to finish the job that you are doing so well instead of losing the guts they never had. This country would still be owned by England and France if it weren’t for men like you that fight for what is just and true. My heartfelt thanks from one Marine to another. Thank you Gunny for your spirit and leadership by example. May it inspire those that serve, and those that wish they still could.Semper Fidelis

Comment by Robert February 20th, 2008 at 11:30 pm: I already knew The Marine Corps made men. I joined in 1966 and spent 13 months in Vietnam. Reading about the Gunny reminds me of how proud I was AND am to have been a small part of the tradition. But I don’t believe I had the GUTS the Gunny HAS.

Comment by Brent Teal February 20th, 2008 at 11:02 pm: I am glad to see that the military still lets these soldiers pursue their career and passion if they so choose. Things are a lot different then they were back in the clinton era and that in itself should show that the democrats must not win. Confusion to the dems.

Comment by GySgt Steven Bosley February 20th, 2008 at 10:22 pm: Jennifer, at a time when I needed something to pick me up in the midst of the medias bombardment of extreme liberalism you present a story of two Marines who show what it means to be an American and that freedom comes with a price. Liberals of America, pay attention. These Marines are sterling examples of of what dedication, loyalty, pride, and Esprit de Corps are all about. They exemplify the true spirit of what it means to be called a Marine. I still wear my colors proudly as it has always been stated that "Once a Marine always a Marine". Gunny (Spanky)and Sgt. Matiodda I am so proud of both of you. You are men of honor and courage. Semper Fi, GySgt Steven Bosley USMC Retired.
