Marines at it AGAIN!

Okay, so The Gunny is biased towards Marines, deal with it! haha. When Uncle Sam needs it done, done fast, and done well, he dials 800-911-USMC.

In yet ANOTHER story untold of by the libstream media, the Marines in Al Qa'im Iraq, 4th Marines (China Marines) are currently filling thousands of backpacks for Iraqi school children here.

L/Cpl Andrew Novak, (Phoenix, AZ) a rifleman w/ H&S Co., Task Force 1st Bn., 4th Marines stated: "Helping these children makes me feel like Im giving something back and just being able to do this shows the progress weve made."

SgtMaj Carlos A. Perez, (Sanger, CA) said: "The Iraqi government has given a lot to this area of operations, but they havent been able to fund every school district with supplies and sports equipment. A lot of people back home sent messages asking how they could assist in fighting the war on terrorism. Most of the school supplies sent were from Marines family members. Slowly but surely, the people are turning against the insurgency. They are now seeing that their kids can now go to school and play in the streets.

L/Cpl Bill E. Cello, (Elmherst, Ill) an assaultman with H&S Support Company stated: "The key for these kids peaceful future is through their education and if we provide them the means for the best education, then were setting them up for success."

The XO of Task Force 1st Bn., 4th Marines is Major Jay K. Zollman, who said, "One of the largest contributors, of 1,000 backpacks, was generously provided by (an investment firm in California) where my wife works." (Evil capitalism at work libs!

Lance Cpl. Carlos Raices, (Aspen, CO), a mortarman with H&S Company added, "This will hopefully change any negative Iraqis perspective of Americans."

SitRep: Husaybah, Iraq, was once a place of bullet-riddled buildings but is now a place where thousands of men, women and children shop for food and housing supplies in safety. The children are going back to school and the families and friends of these Marines along with an ENTIRE US TOWN, gave backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, crayons and other school supplies for the children in Task Force 1st Bn., 4th Marines' AO. The people here are working to reconstruct their area, so their children can be safe and business can flourish. The Leathernecks are making sure that the children in Al Qa'im and outlying villages have the wherewithal to go to school and hopefully, provide for a better Iraq.

"Millions of people go through life wondering if they've made a difference. Marines don't have that problem." Ronald Reagan.
